PROBATE

Family-3.jpg

WHAT IS PROBATE?

Probate is the legal process of administering the estate of a deceased person. This involves collecting their assets, paying any debts and taxes, and distributing the remaining assets to the beneficiaries named in the will or, if there is no will, according to the laws of intestacy.

The person responsible for carrying out the probate process is called the "executor" if named in the will or the "administrator" if appointed by the court.

Probate can be a time-consuming and complex process, and it is often recommended to seek the advice of a probate attorney.
